Hotel Accommodations and Transportation

Lodging.  The Holiday Inn - Chattanooga Choo Choo is one of the South's most renowned and unique landmarks, located in the heart of Chattanooga. The Choo Choo combines history and fun in a blend that appeals to visitors of all ages.  Reservations for lodging should be made directly with the Chattanooga Choo Choo. A special Symposium room rate of $60.00 (plus taxes) is offered for the nights of May 8 through May 12, 2004 for rooms with either one king-sized or two double beds.  Rooms should be reserved with a credit card as soon as possible to guarantee lodging at the Symposium rates. Reservations received after April 17, 2004 will be on a rates-available, space-available basis only.

The hotel requires either a 1-night deposit or a credit card guarantee. Deposits are fully refundable if canceled 72 hours in advance of scheduled arrival. Check-in time is 3:00 pm, and check-out time is 11:00 am.  The hotel will make reasonable efforts to accommodate early arrivals and late departures by arranging for a baggage hold area if they are notified in advance.

Transportation.  The CARTA trolley runs every 8 minutes from the Choo Choo, providing transportation to the downtown area at no charge.  The hotel provides a shuttle to and from the regional airport at no charge also.  Enterprise Rent-a-Car has offered a special rate if 5 or more participants rent their cars at the regional airport (details as they become available).

Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel Activities Department.  This department is familiar with all of the local attractions and has information on the surrounding areas, ticket availability, and transportation.
