S ocial Program • Sunday, April 28 Evening reception for attendees and their guests (light snacks, no charge) • Monday, April 29 Morning Guest Program for guests of attendees (continental breakfast and information on appropriate excursions will be provided). The Guest Program fee includes participation on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings as well. Fee for guests of attendees: $25.00 Evening Poster Session with dinner buffet for registered attendees. Guests of attendees may purchase tickets ($25.00). • Tuesday, April 30 Free Afternoon Local hiking trips can be arranged at no additional cost for any date. See Site Description for further information on local activities and sightseeing opportunities. • Wednesday, May 1. Evening Banquet at the Park Vista Hotel (preceded by a social hour). The symposium fee includes the social hour and banquet, but guests of attendees must purchase tickets. The map above shows an overview of the Smoky Mountains National Park and a few of it's hiking spots. Favorites include Cade's Cove (a scenic 11 mile loop rood), Chimney Tops (moderate 4 mile hike), and Clingman's Dome (scenic overlook). The Sugarlands Visitor Center, located just inside the park and about a mile from Gatlinburg, has a variety of hiking guides/tips/maps for visitors. Dixie Stampede began as a dream for Dolly Parton. And today it is one of the most spectacular dinner attractions in Pigeon Forge, TN.
