Product Delivery

Most biofeedstock for biorefineries is likely to come from the central United States but the demand for biofuels and biopower will be on the more densely populated coasts. Optimizing the location of biorefineries in relation to energy demand and transportation infrastructure (roads, railways, barges) is major step in growing a bioenergy industry. ORNL has a rich history and strength in both transportation and electric grids research and is applying that expertise to evaluate the delivery element of the bioenergy supply chain.
