Claretta Jackson Sullivan is a Ph.D. graduate student in the Genome Science and Technology program in the Biology Division at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She received her math/computer science B.S. degree from Tougaloo College in 1987. In the years prior to graduate school she worked in private industry and taught in the public schools. In her thesis research, Claretta is using imaging technologies, including atomic force microscopy and laser scanning confocal microscopy to characterize membrane proteins in E. coli.
