ORNL researchers win Award for Excellence

Paul S. Rohwer, Ann Wilson Buttram and Linda Dickert of the Department of Energy's (DOE) Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) have won an Award for Excellence in the annual reports category of the Society for Technical Communications 1996 competition.
Rohwer served as program manager, Buttram as editor and Dickert as graphic designer of the winning report, FY 1995 Energy Systems Programs Funded by the Assistant Secretary for Environment, Safety and Health.
A native of Iowa, Rohwer joined ORNL's Health Physics Division in 1966. He later led the technology assessments section of the Health Sciences Research Division. He was head of the Health Physics Department prior to his current position as associate director of the Life Sciences Division.
Rohwer earned a bachelor's degree in physics from Drake University in Des Moines and master's and doctorate degrees in radiation biology from the University of Rochester in New York.
Buttram has served as senior technical publications analyst at ORNL since 1990. She earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Tennessee.
Dickert has been an illustrator in ORNL's Computing Information and Networking Division since 1992. She received her bachelor's degree in liberal arts from the University of Tennessee.
ORNL, one of DOE's multiprogram national research and development facilities, is managed by Lockheed Martin Energy Research Corporation.
