ORNL research staffer named to editorial board of new scientific journal

Dr. Lee Raleigh Shugart, a research staffer in the Environmental Sciences Division of the Department of Energy's (DOE) Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), has been appointed to the editorial board of the new scientific journal, Biomarkers.
Shugart has served in his present position at ORNL since 1985. From 1967 to 1985, he was on the staff of ORNL's Biology Division. He obtained a bachelor's degree from East Tennessee State University and his master's and doctorate degrees from the University of Tennessee. Shugart also served as a line officer in the U.S. Navy.
Shugart and his wife, Shirley, reside in Knoxville.
ORNL, one of DOE's multiprogram national research and development facilities, is managed by Lockheed Martin Energy Systems, which also manages the Oak Ridge K-25 Site and the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant.
