Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk for Diabetes

The most recent home build was in the Clinton area, where over 50 volunteers worked a total of 370 hours over 17 days to provide a new home for a local family. This popular team activity has been very successful over the past few years in raising funding from ORNL employees and friends for finding a cure for juvenile diabetes, as well as research and education. The goal is to give children with diabetes a chance at life without insulin injections, blood tests, restricted diets, and shortened life expectancy

Thom Mason served as the 2010 Honorary Chairman for the JDRF Walk.

Team UT-Battelle was proud to have over 100 people in the 2010 Walk at the World's Fair Park on a beautiful day. Team UT-Battelle raised a total of $18,486 which included both a corporate sponsorship as well as funds raised through a Directorate Challenge issued by Thom Mason.
