The Oak Ridge Postdoctoral Association (ORPA) invites the Postdoctoral and Postmasters researchers of ORNL to attend the 2nd Annual ORNL Postdoc Research Symposium on Thursday July 10, in the ORNL Conference Center. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Ellen Williams, senior advisor, Office of the Secretary of Energy.
The symposium offers an opportunity to share your research and accomplishments with the ORNL community, to learn more about the various research areas at ORNL, and to network with scientists from various fields.
The symposium will consist of a keynote lecture, research presentations, a poster session, and live demonstrations. The demonstration session, a new addition for this year's symposium, provides a platform for researchers to showcase products and technology that have been developed as a result of research at ORNL, such as a software demo, a 3D printed object or a robot. In all, 94 posters, 34 oral presentations, and 3 demos will be presented during the symposium.
More than 60 group and team leaders, chief scientists and senior research staff have agreed to serve as judges for evaluating submissions for the Best Research Award on the day of the event. The event is open to staff at ORNL, the Bredesen Center and others. Interns and summer students are encouraged to attend as well.
