Materials development has become to rely more heavily on the combined efforts between the computational experiments (In Silico) and the bench-top experiments (In Vitro). This presentation will provide the progress and challenges in our In Silico -In Vitro research activities in the design of novel catalysts and organic dye sensitizers. In particular, I will discuss the process of designing bimetallic and ternary Pt containing alloys for oxygen reduction and triarylamine-based dyes for effective electron transfer upon photon excitation.
