Competitive Compensation

  • ORNL provides competitive pay based on an individual’s position within the job structure, performance, and external market comparisons.

401 (k) Savings Plan

  • You may enroll as of the date you start work and are 100% vested after 3 years of service
  • Matching contribution of up to 3%
  • Plan benefits include pre-tax, Roth 401 (k), and after tax savings, automatic rebalancing and annual contribution increases, web-based investment education tools, and more

Contributory Pension Plan

  • You can retire with full pension at age 65 or older, regardless of years of service or a reduced pension at age 50, with at least 10 years of service
  • Employees are vested at any age with 5 years of service

Benefits During Retirement

  • If you have at least 10 years of full-time company service, and are eligible for pension, you are eligible for retiree medical and dental coverage at full cost

  • Includes vision and prescription drugs
  • A choice of two plans offered to you and your eligible dependents through Cigna
  • No exclusion for pre-existing conditions

Group Life Insurance

  • Basic: two times your annual salary
  • Supplemental: one to five times your annual salary subject to a maximum amount
  • Dependent: spouse coverage and child coverage available

Special Accident Insurance

  • Full or scheduled payment to you in the event of an accident
  • If you are enrolled under the family plan, your spouse and dependent children will be insured for a percentage of your coverage up to a certain dollar amount
