Auth database in 2-node cluster?

Dear managers,
I have a question about changing the root (or other)
password in a 2 node cluster environment. I believe
that I would need to change that password on BOTH
cluster nodes, is that correct? Or would changing it
on member 1 effect the password change for both
members?

I guess the gist of the question is "Is the auth
database shared?"
