Subject: Console lockout

Hi all,

Our system is a AlphaServer 4100, Tru64 UNIX 4.0D (PK4) w/enanced security.
Under what circumstances would the console get locked out? On a couple of
occasions recently, our server console get locked out by seemingly unknown
causes. The specific error is "Terminal is disabled - See System
Administrator".

Its easy enough to fix using dxdevices - root login is allowed, however, I'm

troubled as to why the console is being disabled.

B.T.W.
I was going to search the archives, but couldn't get in. Anyone else having

problems searching the archives?
Thanks,

I got only two responses:
(1)

This is not the case here - both of the db's appear fine.
Guess I'll try to investigate a little harder next time this happens.
Also, concerning the list archives:

>OK, so I believe, it's some problem with the archives program itself.
