     I need to transfer mail service and about 400 user accounts from a Sun 
     workstation to our Alpha AXP 4000 running OSF 2.0.  The Alpha is 
     fairly new and has only about 45 user accounts on it.  I am wondering 
     if anyone else has done this and could advise me on the most efficient 
     way to proceed.
     
     Bringing the /etc/passwd file, and all the users' files, over from the 
     Sun, then adding the 45 original users to that file sounds reasonable 
     but problematic.  Adding 400 accounts via adduser takes care of 
     everything but would be a drag.  Has anyone written a script or 
     modified adduser to take input from a file?
