SUMMARY: 4000/300 and HP Laserjet 4M
Thanks for the replies. I got two main strains of reply; either using serial
or using ethernet. I didn't say which I was using in my original post but was
more interested in the serial connection.
To use serial:
Connect printer to DB25 serial port (/dev/tty00) using lead with
rx/tx lines crossed over the rest straight thru. The following printcap from
sanjay@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx works very well althogh I have managed to work
the baud rate at 19200.

To use Ethernet:
Install ethernet adapter in Laserjet 4M (should be available thru
printer vendor).
The following is part of a message from lee@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
explaining how he used such a setup;

We set up our hp LaserJet 4Si MX with JetDirect Card as follows:

/etc/services:

Many thanks to all who replied so promptly
