Corrupted mail spool files

	Several times now our system has had trouble with the incoming
mailboxes in /usr/spool/mail getting corrupted or disorganized without a
user so much as touching them.  Sometimes the mailbox itself is corrupted
to the point that it cannot be read by Elm, while more often two messages
get concatenated and displayed as a single message.  The problem has never
come up when the system is idle, but rather seems to happen when the mail
system is forced to deal with two (or more) messages coming in at the same
time.

	Has anyone else had any experience with this sort of problem?  I'm
running Elm 2.4 pl23 on OSF/1 1.3a.
