I have a qmail setup using LWQ. I am also using ezmlm on same server.
I like to setup a second qmail server with same domain on different
physical location for geographic redundancy.
I guess I could setup the file smtproutes on the primary server, which
is the mx for that domain, and forward all emails to the
second server?!
However if the primary server never comes back again, ever, what are my options?
Should I just replace the mx record on DNS , add locals and
virtualdomains files, and use the name of the second server?
Just to change the scenario if the second server dies can I just
remove/modify the smtproutes file on primary
and ensure email process without interruption?
Please advise
I know I have to make sure all users have an account with identical
uids on both servers and NFS home
dir for their Maildir.
Now what if I want to add a third qmail server in another physical
location and want to make that part of the
failover architecture as well? Do I just add/delete smtproute and
update the mx on dns?
