How would that default .qmail file look like. And is it not a overkill
to accept mails (maybe not destined for that box) and somehow "forward"
it to another box.

I am not too sure too. I am not in this field. But then, how are big
servers really done. Do they go on adding new harddisk or do they work 
over NFS. Are packages like vmailmgr or vpopmail used or are custom
packages doled out. I am really curious.
