qmail cannot find $HOME/Maildir

What configuration needs to be done to allow qmail to get to the users
$HOME/Maildir?  I started qmail (qmail-start ./Maildir splogger qmail &)
and had the pop3 server also has the Maildir on the end of it.  The smtp
entry has no reference of it.  

What am I missing?  How do I flush the buffer once its fixed??  Are there
any docs other that man pages and the 20 or so questions from the qmail
site???
