What business does an anonymous fingerer have knowing if the user has
mail?

If cfingerd is so configurable, disable the mail checking. (And you may
also want empty requests to be rejected too)

Hmm... It works fine for me.  Try getting a different version of shadow.

It's a (more) secure version of inetd.  It runs services like pop3, smtp
etc. intead of inetd.

The FAQ has some details on configuring it to work with pop3 and smtp,
and it is GREAT with wu-ftpd. (You get better speed that NcFTPd!)
