Another problem with a DecStation 2100

I have (yet another) Decstation 2100 which suddenly started behaving as
follows:

When switched on, the monitor displays a bright empty rectagular screen,
and the 8 red LEDs on the back of the machine indicate 1110 1111.
According to table D-2 in the manual this means "memory". I have checked
and exchanged the memory modules, they work fine in another DecStation.
It seems that the DecStation for some reason does not continue by
setting the screen to dark and starting self tests.
Any idea what I could do about it?
