Welcome to Women in Nuclear

The Oak Ridge chapter of WIN is part of the national U.S. WIN’s Region II. Region II covers the southeastern states and holds an annual meeting.

WIN is an organization of professionals in the nuclear field. Membership is not restricted to women, but the vast majority of members are women. The purposes of the organization are

To support an environment in nuclear energy and nuclear technologies in which women are able to succeed.

To provide a network through which women in those fields can further their professional development.

To provide an organized association through which the public is informed about nuclear energy and nuclear technologies.

Oak Ridge WIN has sent representatives to the last five meetings (listed by the host organization). Attendance at the meetings varies from 50-75 with approximately 20% coming from out of town.

For the last 4 years, the Oak Ridge chapter of WIN hosts a Fall Technical Program at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The program is comprised of tours of ORNL facilities and seminars on the latest nuclear-related research.
