Audio Spot: Women in Science event planned Monday at ORNL

OAK RIDGE, Tenn., April 28, 2006 — Celebrating the accomplishments of women in science will be the theme of a program Monday afternoon at the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

Oak Ridge's Lynn Kszos says the program will focus on several highlights.

"We will highlight the technical accomplishments of women scientists at the laboratory and find a way to encourage recruitment and retention of women scientists," Kszos says. "We typically have a wide range of presenters - everywhere from graduate students and post-docs to seasoned scientists well into their careers."

This is the second year the laboratory has conducted the Women in Science program.

ORNL is managed by UT-Battelle for the Department of Energy.
