Stewart named editor of publication

OAK RIDGE, Tenn., March 20, 2001 — Arthur Stewart of the Environmental Sciences Division of the Department of Energy's (DOE) Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) has been named editor of "Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry."

The publication is an international journal dedicated to advancing the sciences of environmental toxicology and chemistry, including the application of these sciences to risk assessment. Stewart will be responsible for manuscripts that are submitted for publication on the effects of contaminants in aquatic systems. Stewart previously served on the journal's editorial board.

A senior research staff member at ORNL, Stewart earned bachelor's and master's degrees in aquatic ecology from Northern Arizona University and a doctorate in the same discipline from Michigan State University.

Stewart is a member of the Knoxville Writers' Guild and the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Lenoir City. His wife, Monty Ross, is a member of the Lenoir City Board of Education. They have five children. The family resides in Lenoir City.
