LMER honored for diversity
OAK RIDGE, Tenn., June 11, 1998 Lockheed Martin Energy Research Corporation (LMER), which manages the Department of Energy's (DOE) Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), has earned DOE's Roadrunner Award for progress in equal employment opportunity and diversity.
The award was presented during the second annual EEO/Diversity Awards program in Oakland, Calif.
LMER was recognized "for significant progress in building sound and notable diversity programs, which are clearly linked to strong and effective EEO/Diversity strategic plans and policies, and the many diversity practices that serve as a model for other organizations."
LMER was also presented two Notable Best Practices Awards "for establishing a reduction-in-force review board and EEO Performance measures for managers."
