This video describes transformational research, development, and deployment initiatives the nation must pursue in order to achieve net-zero-energy buildings and significant carbon emissions reductions. Although created by ORNL, the video is intended to underline the importance of an aggressive and diversified portfolio of new initiatives by government research organizations working collaboratively with many in industry, non-profit organizations, state organizations, universities, utilities, and energy service providers.

This video shows what Jesse Sullivan, a double amputee from Tennessee, can do with the first-generation DARPA-funded arm. ORNL is conducting research that may help DARPA-funded organizations develop the second-generation arm by the end of 2009. The ORNL research is described in this issue of the ORNL Review.
