Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Walk for Diabetes

This popular team activity has been very successful over the past few years in raising funding from ORNL employees and friends for finding a cure for juvenile diabetes, as well as research and education. The goal is to give children with diabetes a chance at life without insulin injections, blood tests, restricted diets, and shortened life expectancy.

Thom Mason served as the 2010 Honorary Chairman for the JDRF Walk.

The most recent home build was in the Clinton area, where over 50 volunteers worked a total of 370 hours over 17 days to provide a new home for a local family.

Team UT-Battelle was proud to have over 100 people in the 2010 Walk at the World's Fair Park on a beautiful day. Team UT-Battelle raised a total of $18,486 which included both a corporate sponsorship as well as funds raised through a Directorate Challenge issued by Thom Mason.
