Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk

On September 28, 2003, 17 ORNL employees, friends, and family members took part in the five-county walk held at the Oak Ridge Marina. A total of 305 walkers raised funds that will be used for finding the cause and cure of this disease. There was a high level of enthusiasm and many festivities, including games, entertainment, food and a "most beautiful pet" contest. Team UT-Battelle raised $2,895 in contributions and $320 in a golf-ball drop contest. The Team UT-Battelle t-shirt worn by team members was chosen as best t-shirt among participants. UT-Battelle also made a $300 corporate contribution.

Total amount raised was approximately $26,000, which was donated to the East Tennessee Alzheimer's Foundation.
