Industrial Energy Efficiency

The focus of the Industrial Energy Efficiency effort is to provide industry with tools and techniques to identify energy efficiency improvement opportunities in plant production systems. Primary emphasis is placed on plant utility systems including steam, pump, compressed air, fan, and process heating systems.

In addition, work on new/emerging process technologies is conducted to mitigate risks inherent in implementing those technologies. The plant utility systems work focuses on development of system assessment tools, plant-wide assessments of efficiency opportunities, training related to optimization of the systems, development of case studies documenting energy efficiency actions undertaken by industry, and focused assessments of plant utility systems. Support for new/emerging technologies is provided in the form of independent, third-party verification and validation of the performance of those technologies when demonstrated in the field.
