Newbie Problem
I've installed qmail and according to qmailctl stat everything is
working fine. The only problem is I can't send outgoing email from my
server.
The server lives within an intranet, so I know the name of the SMTP
gateway and know it accepts connections on port 25. Currently my server
has no reason to accept incoming mail so I don't need that configured,
but some day I'd like it to manage an internal mailing list.
By now I have messed around with the configuration so much I think I've
managed to mess things up. Sending only outgoing email seemed like a
fairly straight forward thing to do.
Could anybody offer some pointers?
Thanks - Tod

Redhat v8, netQmail v1.05 built from scratch
./qmailctl stat
/service/qmail-send: up (pid 741) 708163 seconds
/service/qmail-send/log: up (pid 11796) 1 seconds
/service/qmail-smtpd: up (pid 8232) 531813 seconds
/service/qmail-smtpd/log: up (pid 11797) 1 seconds
messages in queue: 12
messages in queue but not yet preprocessed: 10
These ten don't want to leave the queue and the number will likely
increase as they are log messages that are periodically sent to root.
