ULTRIX Y2K PATCH: 'date' has bugs?

Just a quick note of interest...

I've just been installing the Y2K patches
on our DECstations (125/133) here, and I've
come across a ~little~ problem. The new 'date'
command, when you specify a timezone, totally
stuffs up the system date. It must do something
weird to the timezone, because I got system dates
with the years 1905 and 2088! This problem seems
to be in the V4.3 and V4.4 updates (at least).
It also does not occur if you don't specify a
timezone [which you probably don't need to!].

Other possible 'date' symptoms (in V4.4) are that
it sometimes causes a minor corruption in the
filesystem which gets picked up (and fixed)
when the system is rebooted. Also, and I know
you aren't supposed to do this anyway, if you
execute 'date' in an DXterm it causes all sorts
of weird messages and the DXterm crashes.

Anyone have any comments/experiences with UTRIX
Y2K upgrade? I found the install script had a
few minor bugs, giving false error messages.
                    Only annoyance value really.

Another quick question, does anyone know how to
                    make a copy of a TK50 tape (a install/boot tape
                    actually)?

                    thanks in advance.
