Frank V. Damiano
Frank V. Damiano is a Group Leader and Sponsored Research
Manager in the Technology Transfer and Economic Development directorate
at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Damiano joined the staff
at ORNL in 1980 following military career in the United States
Air Force, retiring, after 26 years of active and reserve duty,
as a Colonel in 1994.
At ORNL, Damiano is responsible for the effective negotiations,
administration and closeout of high-dollar volume, highly complex
non-federal Work for Others Agreements to support ORNL’s
national mission. Requirements include working closely with ORNL
researchers, TTED personnel, DOE – Oak Ridge Operations,
state and local government officials and senior level management
personnel in small, medium and Fortune 500 companies. Damiano
presently has 272 agreements under administration for an estimated
total value of $230 million and works closely with the Economic
Development group by attending meetings and conferences presenting
the Oak Ridge capabilities to various industrial organizations
and foreign government officials.
Damiano received numerous combat and non-combat related
decorations and awards during his military career. In his civilian
career in Oak Ridge, he has received numerous commendations for
his performance including several Significant Event Awards. Damiano
holds a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Southern Illinois
University and a Master of Science in management from The University
of Northern Colorado.
