TTED recently hosted a 26-person delegation from the La Manche region of France to ORNL. This was the next to last major event in their 10-day tour of Tennessee that took them to Nashville, Murfreesboro, Lynchburg, Memphis, Pigeon Forge, Maryville and Oak Ridge. ORNL Director Jeff Wadsworth and TTED Director Alex Fischer spoke at the opening session and also attended the lunch where we continued to build a bridge between La Manche and ORNL with presentations on the ITER project that will be built in France, an overview of our university partnerships that are increasingly having an international flavor, and the unveiling of a dozen or so picture post cards that SNS’ Max Cronan’s mother recently found. Why were they of any importance to this group? Max’s grandfather brought them back from Normandy in 1918.
