Abstract

An apparatus and method is described for heating and cooling of work pieces in an ultrahigh magnetic field. The method has been reduced to practice for an experimental apparatus that Oak Ridge National Laboratory has used for experiments carried out at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory. The heating and cooling apparatus can be used for heat treatment in the presence of a magnetic field at industrial production facilities.

Application(s) of the Technology

Improved heat treatment in the presence of a magnetic field at industrial production facilities.
