Pollution Prevention Funding Opportunities

P2 HOME

Introduction

An important function of the Pollution Prevention Program at ORNL is to help generators of waste acquire funding to implement pollution prevention projects. Various mechanisms exist for awarding money from DOE for implementing P2 on the Oak Ridge Reservation. Below is information on funding programs currently available. We encourage generators to submit proposals at any time. We will hold onto your proposals until funding is made available. Some funding programs (like HiVal) have forms to apply for funding. By clicking on the version you need, you can download the file and use your word processing application to fill out or print the forms. NOTE: We only provide grant money to ORNL programs.

June 2003 P2 Project Funding

The ORNL Pollution Prevention Program is seeking proposals for projects that will reduce waste generation and associated operational and waste management costs. Up to $30,000 is available to purchase equipment or otherwise modify a current waste generating activity in a research lab or support function at ORNL. Proposals will be judged on the project's projected return on investment, type and quantity of waste reduced, the technique used to reduce waste generation, and matching funds that can be committed to the project. Proposals are due by July 2, 2003 and funds must be spent in FY 2003. Below are links to information on the selection process and the application forms. Please call David Wasserman (576-8832) for more information or for help in filling out the application forms.

Generator Set-Aside Fee (GSAF) PROGRAM ON HOLD

GSAF funding is awarded by ORNL's Pollution Prevention Representatives. The money is collected from a small Pollution Prevention 'tax' on waste generated at ORNL. Awards are made on an ongoing basis as funds are available. Projects funded by GSAF are usually small or multi-Division projects. Contact your Division's Pollution Prevention Representative if you have a pollution prevention project that you think might be a candidate for GSAF funding.
