ORNL Metrology Laboratory

The ORNL Metrology Laboratory (ORNL ML) supplies metrology and testing capabilities for ORNL R&D and support organizations. The facility provides the expertise and resources for the conduct of a wide variety of tests and measurements. ORNL ML represents the top level of traceability for physical (pressure, flow, vacuum, temperature) and electrical measurement parameters at ORNL. The services and facilities of ORNL ML are available to all ORNL Divisions and Programs by contacting a ORNL ML representative (shown below). The same services are available to external users (industrial, academic and governmental) through Work for Others contracts.

Calibration Capabilities

A suite of sophisticated, computer-driven equipment affords the Metrology Lab the capability to do precision electronic calibrations for a wide range of instruments, including oscilloscopes up to 1.1 Ghz.

The metrology lab supplies calibration services for this facility. Routine calibration of instrumentation improves the quality of the finished product by providing accurate and reliable test measurements.
