Veterans Day 2001
"Lest we forget why we enjoy such great freedom today and where the sacrifices for our country really happened: on the battlefield where people gave the ultimate sacrifice. Please remember those people as we approach Veteran's Day."
DECEMBER 8 - There will be a Pearl Harbor Memorial Ceremony at the front entrance to the Oak Ridge Y-12 plant at noon. There will be military speakers and a 21-gun salute in memory of our veterans that have given their lives to help preserve our freedom.
This event would be a good time for everyone to show solidarity in support of our veterans who have served and survived, as well as the military currently serving. It would also be a good chance for the children to see and participate in a truly American patriotic act.
