Hispanic Heritage Month is nationally observed to coincide with the September dates when six Latin American countries (Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua) received their independence from Spain. Activities at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory are planned to acknowledge the contributions, heritage, and cultures of the various Hispanic peoples in the United States.

Many thanks to the Hispanic Heritage Celebration Committee for all the time and effort expended in planning and implementing this celebration!
