Coping with Change

Chef Jock Lijoi cooked his first full meal when he was five, a breakfast of sausage, hash browns and Italian eggs for his family. He baked his first cake when he was eight, a strawberry torte from scratch, followed not long after by a Boston Cream creation.

These days people from all over the country flock to Jock’s warm and charming restaurant, Chef Jock’s Tastebuds Cafe, on Wears Valley Road in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, from where he has created a following and built a reputation that has seen him featured on the TV Food Network, in Southern Living Magazine, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and in numerous regional media venues. Chef Jock has recently opened Chef Jock's Bistro at the Days Inn Convention Center, Merchants Drive and Central Avenue, in Knoxville.

In 2001, Jock was severely injured in an automobile wreck. Since then he has had to endure countless hours of surgery and rehabilitation. Though he remains confined to a wheelchair, his love of life and his faith in God have propelled him to continue the fine art of cooking.

An autographed cookbook and 4 $25 gift certificates to Chef Jock's Bistro will be given away as Door Prizes.
