November 11, 1999

All ORNL Veterans are invited to wear their uniforms on this special day.

10:30 -- Veterans start assembling at main portal for the procession to the flag pole and to receive special "Veteran" badges.

10:40 -- ORNL Veterans, William Blount High School ROTC Color Guard, and Karns High School Band line up for procession at main portal.



10:55 -- Procession begins from main portal to flagpole while Karns High School Band plays patriotic songs.

11:00 -- Ceremony
Fred Strohl will make opening and closing remarks.
Color Guard from William Blount High School and ORNL Veteran Guards will raise the flag while the band plays the National Anthem.
Richard Genung will speak.
Terry Allmond and Missy Pointer, ORNL Veterans, will place the wreath at the flagpole.
(An interpreter for hearing-impaired will be provided.)

11:11 -- Moment of silence.

Flyover by the 134th Air-refueling Group of the Tennessee Air National Guard.

11:15 -- Veterans, color guard, and band will line up and proceed to the cafeteria while band plays patriotic songs.

11:30- 1:30 -- Program at ORNL Cafeteria
Mark Kohring will lead a military quartet
Willis Baker will read his poem "A Whited Cross".
The Chronic 4, a group led by Joe Marasco will sing.

All Veterans may eat the "Special" for half price!

Military equipment will be displayed in front of the Cafeteria which will include a military ambulance, troop transport vehicle, hummer and WWWI Willis Jeep. Weapons, night-vision goggles, and other military equipment will also be on display. The equipment is being provided by the U. S. Army Reserve 844th Engineer and 489th Civil Affairs Battalions.


"I Want You"
A new signature board has been designed and is hanging permanently in "I" corridor just outside the Weinberg Auditorium lobby. ALL Veterans are urged to please go by and sign the new board.
