Veterans Day Parade in downtown Knoxville on Gay Street at 11:00 on November 11.
The American Legion Post 19 will conduct a formal ceremony at the Municipal Building in Oak Ridge. The event takes place at the Oak Ridge Veterans Memorial beneath the flag pole in front of the building at 4:00 p.m. on November 11. Colonel Price of the 278th Armored Calvary Division will speak.
Cherokee Middle School students will host a ceremony and the placing of a wreath on the Veterans Memorial Monument in front of the Roane County Courthouse in Kingston at 9:30 a.m.on November 11. The Roane County High School Band will provide the music.
The American Legion and VFW will provide a ceremony at the Oak Grove Cemetary in Rockwood with a speaker and a 21 gun salute by the Roane Memorial Honor Guard.
Retired Lt. Col. Doris A. Daniels, city manager of Clinton, will be the featured speaker Thursday, November 11 at a Veterans Day celebration at ORAU. The theme of the event is "The Armed Forces: A Few Good Men and Women." The event will be held from 9:00-11:30 a.m. in ORAU's Pollard Auditorium and is free and open to the public. Diane DeBinder, an ORAU employee, will sing "The Star-Spangled Banner." A breakfast buffet will follow the program.
The U. S. Army Field Band "The Jazz Ambassadors" will present a free concert on Friday, November 12 at 7:00 at the Clinton High School Gymnasium. Free tickets may be picked up at the sponsors, The Courier News or the Community Bank of East Tennessee.
