Oak Ridge National Laboratory's breadth of research, development, and engineering provides a robust
platform for solutions to many logistics challenges. Years of investment in energy research and the
logistics required to support those programs have resulted in technologies that are well-positioned
to improve and resolve many government and private sector logistics issues. ORNL not only provides
world-class solutions to its customers; but also enables them to leverage years of investment at
little and, sometimes, at no cost.
Logistics technology solutions-those directly related to logistics systems, as well as those
technologies that change logistics consequences-range from advanced development of tagging,
tracking and locating systems to new approaches to water purification. More than a developer
of material solutions, the Logistics "Bench" at ORNL includes experts in modeling, simulations,
diagnostics, knowledge management, and supply chain integration, with executive level experience
in commercial, government and military sectors. Beyond visioning or consulting, ORNL's logistics
accomplishments include systems and operational programs that lead the field in the management
of deployment, employment and sustainment of Joint forces in a net-centric, sense-and-respond
environment.
As the National Security Directorate looks forward to consolidating into a new secure facility
next year, it will acquire truly world-class capability to operate in and respond to the full
range of DOD requirements.
