Special
Session:
DEVS Collaborative Execution and Systems Modeling over SOA
CALL FOR PAPERS
DEVS Integrative M&S Symposium (DEVS '07) is the premier forum for
the
presentation of technological advances and research results in the
fields of theoretical, experimental, and applied Modeling and
Simulation using Discrete EVent Systems (DEVS) Specification. It is the
goal of this symposium to foster information exchange, discussion,
presentation of original ideas, recent results and achievments by
researchers, students, system developers on issues and challenges
related to distributed simulation and real-time applications. Author(s)
are encouraged to submit both practical and theoretical results of
significance. Demonstration of new tools and applications is encouraged.
The scope of this special session includes, but is not limited to:
- Collaborative, Virtual environments over SOA e.g. interative
applications, time management and shared data manipulation
- Data distribution management over distributed models
- Multi-resolutional modeling and simulation over the web
- Simulation as a service within SOA application framework
- Model-based System design and rapid feedback cycle using SOA
- Interface definition, communication, management
- Hierarchical organization of data, models, simulators and their
design based on system requirement specification
- Comparative evaluation of various methodologies in development of
SOA based simulation models
- Applications of web-based Simulation
- Distributed model execution using simulation as a Service
- Server side design of Simulation engines
- Methodologies to transform an existing simulation model to SOA
capable model
- Automated translation and transformation of model behavior into
Service components e.g. model-continuity over SOA, Simulation life
cycle methodology
- Model interoperability and remote execution over SOA
- Model partitioning and simulation control over SOA
- Dynamic Model reconfiguration over SOA
- Use of XML as a communication and/or abstraction/encapsulation
mechanism for SOA based models
- Performance evaluation of SOA simulation system
